Hectic

Okay, my life as we know it is crazy. I have wanted to post, but I've barely had a minute. I'm frantically trying to figure out what I'm going to teach a bunch of tenth graders in a few weeks. Treven has been sick. It was Kimberlyn's birthday and I've had meetings with principals. Oh, and I had to get fingerprinted. My house hasn't been cleaned for weeks. I managed to do some laundry, but it isn't folded. We are living from laundry baskets. Thank goodness for my dad who is making dinner for us a lot, not to mention he, my mom, and sister have taken my kids so I can get school work done while Jarett also goes to meetings and pours concrete.
In summary, I will try to get better stuff posted soon and please excuse my blog. I was experimenting with it, but now I don't have time to make it look nicer. It too is crazy and random, like a symbol of my life.

What A Weekend!

This 4th of July weekend, made me think about how far this country has come. I am so grateful for where I live. This made me think about my roots and where I come from. I included this picture because recently, my mom, dad, Jarett, and myself took a field trip to Beaver, Utah to see where my dad was born. This is the house, which is now turned into a shed. It made me so thankful. He came from such a different background, but was able to make so much of himself and made sure each of his children had more than he ever had.

Also this weekend I had a blast! We went to a parade with my two sisters and their kids and G.G. and Grandpa Gilbert and Grandma Thompson. This is Lexi (Eden's), Beka (Lara's), and Kimberlyn. They have so much fun together since they are only like four months between all of them. Jarett and I took them to the park in Huntington after the parade for Heritage Days. They played on the big bouncers, rode the train, rode the swings (twice), then we had ice-cream, bought bracelts, and had balloon heart wands made. Treven got a sword instead. Not a smart idea right before the car ride home. Everyone kept "touching" each other with their wands and swords. So, all we heard the whole way home was tattling. It was fun though! My sisters and I also had a bow making extravaganza this weekend. We spent hours making little bows for our little girls. (Yes, even Lara did it)

This is a picture of me and Kims. I realized that since I'm the usual picture taker, there are rarely pictures of me, which I'm fine with BTW, however, we took this one of ourselves while the loud fireworks were going off.

This picture was included because Treven looks so darn cute. I imagine he'll be a cute little old man. All he needs is a golf cart and a sun hat.

Birthdays, Nightmares, and Toothbrushes

Due to recent events beyond my control, I turned 27 this last week. It was a good birthday. My mom paid for me to get my nails done, which I had never had done before for different reasons, but it makes typing much more difficult.

Last night I finished the book, THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins and I loved it, but it was one of those books that leave you in the end wishing it would go on. Also, I felt for the characters in the book and feel so badly for one of them. I even had nightmares about the book and this boy, Peeta, that I felt so sorry for. I woke up almost crying! I guess that's what I get for reading so late. I get too emotional. I act tough, but I'm a sap.

Now for some happier thoughts. I have uploaded this video of my kids (okay, so Jarett really did). They are swimming in our backyard. It's funny the different personalities between kids. Kimberlyn loves adventure, but at the same time can be so cautious. She loves water, but hates it in her eyes. Treven, on the other hand is completely insane. He'll jump in water face first and stay there until he's swallowed a gallon of it or we pull him out. The day of this video, I ended up changing like twelve completely soggy wet diapers.

I wasn't going to mention this, but I thought it was a significant example of Kimber's personality. Yesterday, I took her to the dentist. She was so excited asking everyone a million questions and I think everyone in the office knew she loved bubblegum toothpaste. But when it came time for the x-rays, (and you all know how they cut the sides of your gums) she kept exclaiming how she couldn't do it and it was just too hard to bite on, her tongue was too wiggly and she'd push it out (they went through about a dozen sticky bite wing things). Then her toes were uncovered under that heavy anti-radiation jacket and she was stressed that they weren't supposed to be. Finally, we got the picture and she got her Sleeping Beauty tootbrush so all was well.

Everyone Handles Stress Differently

Everyone cheer because I've finally done it. I've finally created a family blog. As I listen to the sweet sound of bubble wrap popping, I realize that my husband really needs more in his life. However, I could look at this positively: gifts from now on can be very cheap.
No, in all honesty he needs a better way to relieve stress. Maybe one of those little stress balls that he can squeeze. You know the ones I mean. The ones that look like a globe or someone's face.
Okay, so seriously now. We are both very stressed. He handles it with bubble wrap, I handle it by buying more shoes!
What we are stressed about:
1. Jarett's harder than birth master's classes. (That may be a stretch, but they are extremely hard)
2. Treven (nothing is wrong with him, he's what you label, "active")
3. Megan's new job as an English teacher at Emery High and Canyon View. Don't ask me what I'm going to teach them.
4. Treven
5. My severe illnesses (did I ever mention I'm a hypochondriac?)
6. The daily Kimber-sodes--she's very dramatic. Sometimes when she begins wailing the first couple times a day I swear she really is seriously injured.
7. Figuring out babysitting for my new teaching job (Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that Trev was such a stress--Whoops--He really isn't that bad)

What we are happy about:
1. Kimber and Treven make us happy and laugh constantly. They are our stress relief also.
2. I'm thankful we have jobs.
3. The gospel (these are in no particular order)
4. Diapers
5. The t.v. ( Yes, I said it and it is true!)
6. Wonderful parents, family, and friends
7. Jarett was able to install our window blinds!!
